Description

Meadowlark Sampler 1986 is a multi-artist sampler album featuring instrumental pieces only, released on Meadowlark Records ‎in 1986, manufactured, marketed and distributed by Sparrow Records. The album was part of the Meadowlark Series, a series of contemplative instrumental albums launched by Sparrow Records in late 1985, sub-titled “Music without words for thoughts without limits” and later ammended to “Music for your personal retreat“.

The ten tracks on the sampler album were lifted from five Meadowlark albums released in 1986, Empty Canvas by John Michael Talbot (“guitar with small ensemble“), InnerMission by Richard Souther (“synthesizer realizations“), Peace in the Puzzle by Amy Shreve (“solo harp compositions“), New Night by Billy Smiley of White Heart fame (“flugelhorn with additional instrumentation“), as well as Heartsongs by Hadley Hockensmith of Koinonia fame (“guitar with additional instrumentation“).
