No Compromise: Remembering the music of Keith Green is a multi-artist project featuring cover versions of songs written by the late Keith Green (October 21, 1953 – July 28, 1982), released on Sparrow Records in 1992.
Keith Green was one of the greats of Christian contemporary music in the seventies. This assembly of many of today’s finest CCM artists is in itself a tribute to his talent and inspiration. Keith’s songs were not just for one particular generation, as this collection shows. Steven Curtis Chapman’s version of «He’ll Take Care Of The Rest» rocks with all the power and energy you would have expected from the man himself; Charlie Peacock’s rendition of «I Can’t Believe It» is testament to just how well a song written two decades ago can still sound so fresh. True, it’s partly down to Charlie but it was Keith who wrote it. Rich Mullins gives «You Are The One» a working over which the simple lyrics demand, it’s typical Green – simple message, strong delivery. The most passionate tracks come from Keith’s wife Melody, «Make My Life A Prayer To You» and the hymnal sound of «There Is A Redeemer». These songs and the others included here were some of the most significant steps in the development of Christian music. But more than that they wonderfully minister to heart and spirit.
