Heartsongs

Description

Heartsongs is an instrumental recording and the sole solo album by the American session guitarist Hadley Hockensmith of Sonlight and Koinonia fame, released on Meadowlark Records ‎in 1986, manufactured, marketed and distributed by Sparrow Records. The album was part of the Meadowlark Series, a series of contemplative instrumental albums launched by Sparrow Records in late 1985, sub-titled “Music without words for thoughts without limits” and later ammended to “Music for your personal retreat“. All songs written by Hadley Hockensmith except track A3, which was co-written with Koinonia bandmate, Harlan Rogers.

On the album Hadley Hockensmith is backed by fellow Koinonia members like Abraham Laboriel, Alex Acuna, Bill Maxwell, and Justo Almario, as well as Steve Tavaglione on saxophone and Russell Ferrante of The Yellowjakets fame on keyboards.
