Listen: Louder is a multi-artist compilation album released on Sparrow Records in October 1999, distributed in the US by Chordant Distribution Group.
Like all compilations this has good and bad points for each listener depending on the individual taste. Delirious? kick-start the album with «Come Like You Promise». I seem to be the only person on the planet at the moment who doesn’t think Delirious? are the bees knees, but this bass-driven U2 sound alike is not half-bad. Good to see Switchfoot in the index with the worship number «Spirit» as well as Audio Adrenaline and Sarah Masen. A new name for me was the band Luna Halo whose contribution «Humble Thyself In The Sight Of The Lord» is a moody rocker which I (another moody rocker) found to be one of the album’s highlights. The album, conceived as a rock alternative to the successful ‘Listen’ series of soft pop worship, works well. [Andy Long, Cross Rhythms, April 2000]
