Live Forever

Description

Live Forever is a live album by the American rock band Mylon LeFevre & Broken Heart, released on Myrrh Records in 1983, a division of Word. The album was recorded live at Mt. Paran Church in Atlanta, Georgia; July 11 and 12, 1983. Live engineering by Joe Hardy, Joe Neil, and Larry Goode using Sam’s Tapetruck. Mixed by Hardy. Produced by Mylon LeFevre and Joe Hardy for Broken Heart Productions.

Even though only eight months have passed since we reviewed Mylon’s last album ‘More‘, we felt it very important to tell you about this one as quickly as we could. Broken Heart has been described as one of the best stage band in Christian music, and this record affords them the opportunity to be just that. Sure. Mylon’s journey through life has aligned him in various ways with such popular artists as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, Kansas and even Willie Nelson. ‘More’ even charted on Billboard Magazine. But never before has the heart and soul of this man been so well expressed as on ‘Live Forever’. There are actually only five complete songs on this record but they are done exactly the way you will hear them in concert. In fact the audio effect nearly becomes visual as each member of Broken Heart ministers in his own way in this the ultimate live album. You can almost see the pain on Mylon’s face as he sings, see lead guitarist Dean Harrington’s impish grin and see the audience turn the gymnasium upside down. ‘Brand New Start‘s «Child of the Father» is reprised as is the chorus of ‘More’s «Coming Back Again», but otherwise these are the songs which, until now, could only have been experienced at a live Broken Heart concert. The blues jams will bring to mind DeGarmo & Key’s ‘No Turning Back‘ live offering and Mylon makes Annie Herring‘s «It’s Alright» his own, but were it not for ‘Live Forever’, you’d never have take home the experience of «Freedom», «Jesus Is A Waymaker» or «Workin’ On A Building». Truly a Southern celebration of Jesus! [Mike Atkinson, MusicLine, February 1984 ??]
