Description
The self-titled album by the American soft-rock duo Mike & Von Rogers was originally self-released, though re-titled Child of the Father and re-issued by the Maranatha! Music imprint MRC Records (Ministry Resource Center) in 1981. The album was recorded and mixed at Twelve Oaks Studios in Atlanta, Georgia; with Randy Bugg and Sonny Lallerstedt of Pat Terry Group fame producing. (Von Rogers: 1953 – 2013)
The track “Child of the Father” was included on the multi-artist compilation Back to the Rock released on the Maranatha! Music label A&S Records in 1981. “Child of the Father” was later covered by Mylon LeFevre & Broken Heart on their 1982-album Brand New Start (Broken Heart member Stan Coates actually provides electric piano on Mike & Von Rogers’ album), and as well covered by Mo James on her sole album More Love released the same year and by Mark Moore on his 1984-album, Porchlight.
