Description
Smältvatten (“Melting Water”) is the third album by the Swedish blues rock band Vatten (“Water”), self-released on Gutta in 1981. The album was produced by Vatten founder Tomas Ernvik.
Featuring Tomas Ernvik on guitar and lead vocals, backed by a rhythm section consisting of Björn Millton on bass and Danne Gansmoe on drums and vocals (a.k.a. the rhythm section of Salt).
Tomas Ernvik stays true to his roots on into the ‘80s. Though his trio continues to change with every release, the band consistently cranks out the same solid heavy hard blues rock they started out with in the ‘70s. Both these releases are sung in Swedish and pick up where Plain Water left off. For the curious, “Smaltvatten” means “melting water”, while “Vattendrag” means “falling water”.
