Nobody Knows Me Like You / Step by Step [7-inch single]

Description

“Nobody Knows Me Like You” – b/w “Step by Step” – is a two-sided 7-inch vinyl single by the American singer and songwriter Benny Hester, released on Myrrh Records in 1981, a division of Word (catalogue number M-233). Both tracks were taken from Benny Hester’s full-length album Nobody Knows Me Like You, released on Myrrh Records the same year (though track A is a shorter edit of the original album track), recorded and mixed by John Guess at Hollywood Sound Recorders in Hollywood, California; with Michael Omartian producing.

The A-side of the single, a shorter edit of the original album track, reached number one on the contemporary Christian music chart and as well became the first single released by a contemporary Christian music label to break the Billboard Top 50 Adult Contemporary Chart, debuting at number 44 on November 7, 1981. (The track features a guitar solo by touring band member John Wickham, formerly of the 70s outfits The Way and Parable, two bands signed to the influential label Maranatha! Music back in the day.)

7-inch Vinyl Single tracklist:
