Description
Rich Boys is a Limited Edition 45 RPM 12-inch vinyl single by the British new wave band After The Fire, released on CBS Records March 1982 (catalogue number CBS A 13 1951). The title track was taken from the band’s full-length album Batteries Not Included released on CBS the same year, recorded at Musicland Studios in Munich, Germany; with Mack (a.k.a. Reinhold Mack) producing. The flip-side features two live tracks recorded 14th November 1980 at the Rainbow Theatre in London (“One Rule For You”, a song originally featured on the band’s 1979-album, Laser Love, and “Billy Billy”, a song originally featured on the band’s 1980-album, 80-f). All tracks co-written by band members Andy Piercy and Peter ”Memory” Banks.
Rich Boys was the third and final single from Batteries Not Included. The first single from the album – “Dancing In The Shadows”, b/w “Nobody Else But You” (Live 1980) – had been released as early as July 1981 (catalogue number EPC A1378), while the second single – “Frozen Rivers“, b/w “Starflight” (Live 1980) – was released in September 1981 (catalogue number EPC A1613).

Note: Tracks B1 and B2 recorded live at the Rainbow 14th November 1980. (All three tracks were later included on the double disc compilation Der Kommissar: The CBS Recordings released in 2005.) “Rich Boys” was also released as a 7-inch single with “One Rule For You” on the flip-side.
