5 Years, 50,000 Miles Davis is the sophomore album by the American alternative rock band Black Eyed Sceva (later known as Model Engine), released on 5 Minute Walk Recordings in 1996, distributed by Diamante Music Group. The album was recorded by Bruce Winter at Deane School Chapel, Westmont College, in Santa Barbara, California; February 10 & 11, 1996, with Winter and the band producing. Additional tracks and mixing were done in Winter’s bedroom. (“Soapbox” re-recorded and mixed at Riviera Studios after Bruce’s 12-Track ate the master.) The live tracks were recorded by Masaki Liu of Dime Store Prophets fame at the Screem in Concord, California; March 1, 1996, and were mixed by Winter at Tom Lackner’s house on Glen Phillips’ gear. All songs written by the band with lyrics by lead vocalist Jeremy Post (except “Invisible Sun” written by Sting).

Black Eyed Sceva features Jeremy Post on lead vocals and guitar, Brad McCarter on bass and vocals, and Brent Nims on drums and percussion.
