Description

I stillheten is the sophomore album by the Norwegian singer Hilde Kjeldsen, released on the Norwegian gospel label Lu-Mi ‎in 1981. The album tracks were recorded May 18 and 19, 1981 by Petter Hox at Talent Studio in Oslo, Norway. Overdubbed and mixed during June – September 1981 by Bjørn Lillehagen and Trond Borge at BEL Studio in Oslo. Produced and arranged by Finn Pedersen of Good News fame. Tracks A2, A3, A4, and B3 written by Finn Pedersen. Also featuring covers of songs by three Swedish singer/songerwriters; Roland Utbult (tracks A1, B4, and B5), Anders Börgesson (track A5) of Havets Vindar and Salt fame, and Tomas Hagenfors (track B2). Also featuring a cover of the Stan Vincent classic “Oh Child”.

Hilde Kjeldsen is backed by a session band featuring producer Finn Pedersen on acoustic and electric piano (Fender Rhodes), Clavinet, as well as synthesizer (Korg PS-3100), Torkil Myhre (of Soli Deo fame) on guitar, Vidar Kjeldsen on bass, Per Lindvall on drums, with Jarle Jansen on percussion. Backing vocals provided by Svein Gundersen, Wenche Svartberg, and Hilde Kjeldsen. “Oh Child” features lead vocals by Jan Groth and Wenche Svartberg. Additional musicians: Alto flute by Svein Greni (tracks A2 and A4); vibraphone by Per Nyhaug (track B5); solo guitar on track A5 and rhythm guitar on track B1 by Ola Slaaen. Tracks A2 and B3 feature strings by members of Filharmonisk selskaps orkester (a.k.a. Oslo-filharmonien).
