WoW 1999

Music affects people like nothing else. Over the past three years, millions of people have had their lives affected by the music from the WoW projects.

But this is the one we’re the most excited about. These songs put words to issues of faith that only your heart can feel. We’re convinced that there’s something here that can change your life. Something underneath the music that takes you deeper.

WoW 1999 celebrates the turn of the century with the biggest hits from the 30 top artists in all of Christian music that are sure to become some of your new favorites. Plus 3 bonus cuts from new artists Fernando Ortega, Nicole Nordeman, and Natalie Grant.

WoW 1999 … share it with a friend. [A note printed on the back of the CD]

It is difficult and somewhat unfair to pick and label the “top 30 artists” – I am sure that there will be a few others who feel they should have been included in that classification. However, is packed with big names from across the spectrum of CCM, although I do find it hard to believe that these are the top 30 songs which could have been selected. The tracks are all very competent and well performed, but there are just too many with the same, safe MOR pace and feel. As a result just plods along pretty aimlessly. Newcomers to either CCM or these artists would not have their appetites whetted by this collection. It lacks sparkle, imagination and, at the risk of offending anyone, quality.
