Wide Eyed is the debut album by the American singer and songwriter Nichole Nordeman, released on StarSong Records in 1998, a division of Sparrow Label Group, distributed in the US by Chordant Music Distribution.

This debut album from Star Song records showcases the song writing and singing talents of the young American Nichole Nordeman. On the basis of this showing I would say that those talents are considerable indeed. Nichole’s songs come out of a deep realisation that really following Christ can sometimes get messy and unpredictable, and the quality of her lyrics and vocals bring out her understanding of God sharply. Excellent production by the experienced Mark Hammond has showcased her abilities well, particularly on the tracks «Gone Are The Days», «Burnin’» (one of the best new songs I have heard this year!), and «River God». Judging by her official website she is making strong inroads into the US CCM scene, and she should do just as well here. Buy this, listen to it, let the songs move you and change you.
