Black And White World

Description

The self-titled and first nationally distributed album by the American alternative rock band Black And White World was released on Blonde Vinyl Records in 1991, distributed by Spectra Distribution. The album was produced and engineered by Chris Colbert of Breakfast with Amy fame at Casbah Studio in Fullerton, California.

Black And White World features Rob “Trigger” Gallas on lead vocals; Paul R. Hanna on guitar and vox keys; Burton on bass, acoustic guitar, vocals, and vox keys; and Dave C. on drums, percussion, and vocals.

This eponymously-titled cassette/CD is the band’s first nationally-distributed product. B & W W is a fascinating hybrid of British “Gothic rock” sounds, early Brit-rock and ’90s L.A. metal. Lyricist/drummer Dave C. looks at the troubles of our modern world through wary but compassionate eyes. My favorite track is «Elvis». Over a funk backdrop, vocalist Rob Gallas recites the sad litany of Presley’s life in a Lou Reed monotone, reminding us that only one King is worthy of our worship. It will be most interesting to watch this creative ensemble develop. [Bruce A. Brown, CCM, September 1991]
