Visual Paradox

Description

Visual Paradox is the official debut album by the American synth-pop band Code of Ethics, released on R.E.X. Music in 1991. Later re-issued on ForeFront Records, distributed by StarSong Communications. The album was recorded by Danny Drak at Bethesda Christian Cathedral Studio with band member Barry Blazs producing (except tracks 3, 7, and 10 co-produced with Gerald Josef). Mixed by Jeff Alford assisted by Rick Brainer at Mangum Alford Studios in Jacksonville, Florida. Remixed by John Jaszcz, assisted by Ed Marx and Ben Debias, at Studio A in Detroit, Michigan. All songs written by band member Barry Blazs except tracks 3, 7, and 10 co-written with Gerald Josef.

Code Of Ethics is: Barry Blazs, Robert Waters (guitar on tracks 7 and 8), Julie Blazs (backing vocals on track 5), and Karin Ingwersen (French voice on track 6).

The Cross Rhythms Sunday Experience has long been playing the wonderful throbbing «One Way» complete with its voice from the ‘Outer Limits’ TV programme but as ‘Visual Paradox’ was released Stateside in 1991 on REX it’s somewhat surprising to see it out again on ForeFront in 1993. Presumably Nelson Word are giving it an airing at last because they’ve last caught on to the fact many of us hip dudes (you what? Ed) have known for ages: Christians like to dance. Code Of Ethics mix the best aspects of techno-pop, house and industrial and the whole thing is a delight or computer dominated anti-music, depending on your point of view.
