Description
Time’s End is the full-length debut album by the American metal band Saint, released on Pure Metal Records in 1986, distributed by Refuge Music Group. The album was recorded by David Lore at Falcon Studios in Portland, Oregon; with band members John Mahan and Richard Lynch producing.
From the stunningly graphic cover down to the sound in the grooves (a cross between Iron Maiden and the best of Black Sabbath), Saint’s second release demonstrates its metal mettle. «In the Night», «Through You», and the title cut all stand out.
This is a prime candidate for crossover sales, but be forewarned: the negativity of the lyrics (covering the world’s destruction and similarly unpleasant themes) and the lack of explicit Christian content (no mention of Christ here, just one reference to “the King”) will make this a controversial release. Time’s End would make an excellent gift for searching friends, as long as you lead them through its deeper meaning. [Devlin Donaldson and Steve Rabey, CCM, May 1987]
