Description
Trust is the sophomore album by the American hard rock band The Brave, released on Pakaderm Records in 1994, manufactured and distributed by Word. The album was recorded by J.R. McNeely and Dino Elefante at Pakaderm Studios in Los Alamitos, California; with John and Dino Elefante producing. Mixed by Dino Elefante.
As much as it gets railed on, “arena rock” and “post metal” hard rock are styles that will probably never completely disappear. Some artists have no problem moving into more modern pastures (Bride, Guardian), while some are able to reinvent the old styles.
The Brave returns for a soph effort which leaves behind the Def Leppard-isms (now there’s a band that has a problem getting out of the 80s) as their new lead vocalist (Randy Roberts) forges ahead with the band into a leaner, meaner sound. It’s not “modern,” but this is as “contemporary” as a lot of what gets played on the hard rock stations (like the newer, less-glam stuff from Cinderella and Poison). If you want just plain ol’ no-nonsense hard rock, The Brave do a pretty good job with ‘Trust’. [Chris Well, Syndicate # 41, 1994 (Vol. 9, Iss. 5)]
