Not in My House is the third album by the American singer and songwriter Daniel Winans, released on Glorious Music in 1994. The album was recorded at A Cut Above Studio, A Father’s Image Recording Studio, and Manzanita Studio in Nashville, Tennessee; with Daniel Winans, Cedric Caldwell, Victor Caldwell, and Hawk Wolinski producing. Mixed at Sound Stage Studio in Nashville.

I’ve long been enthusiastic about the soulful voiced Mr Winans ever since that ‘Brotherly Love’ gem came out way back. Never enjoying the big breakthrough hit and no doubt looking around at the mega success of his brothers and sisters with some bemusement, Daniel has battled on and here produces another set of subtle, tuneful delights. The absolute gem is «Drift Away», a delightful lilting appeal to drift away in Jesus with a melody that could have come out of Marvin Gaye’s top drawer and a Caribbean lilt in the arrangement. Other highlights are a nice revival of Andrae Crouch’s «Jesus Is The Answer» and a stone-to-the-bone funky «One Day At A Time» (with a rap from Mike E). The album closes with «(Stay) Be With Me Jesus» where Pop Winans, Howard Smith and Daniel recreating the raw, exciting sound of 50s quartets on the Soul Stirrers oldie. Daniel’s commercial weakness, his alarming tendency to hop from style to style, is evident here as is a too-short playing time. But ‘Not In My House’ still contains some great music.
