Description
Gothic is a live album by the American singer and songwriter Michael Roe of The Seventy Sevens fame, independently released on Lo-Fidelity Records in July 2016. The album was recorded live 9-2-01, by Bruce Neher at The Gothic Theater in Denver, Colorado. Featuring Michael Roe backed by Dave Beegle (of Fourth Estate fame) and his band – Brian Beatty (acoustic guitar), David Wetherby (bass), and David Houle (drums). The CD as well includes three studio bonus tracks recorded by Roe.
What we have here is a memorable night in Denver with ‘ol pal Dave Beegle (a great guitar player) and his band backing me up at the last minute without a shred of rehearsal. I am usually reticent to release …. uh … shall we say, overly serendipitous things to the general public, but this recording has been traded long and hard as a bootleg amongst hardcore fans and once I finally heard it, I realized why – it rocks the house like a vandal. The fact that the lovely ladies of Superchick opened for us that night is proof positive that rock & roll was alive and well at the Gothic in 2001. – Michael Roe
