Description
Heart of the Young is the sophomore album by the American AOR/melodic rock band Age of Faith, released on Benson Music Group in 1992. The album was produced by Bill Baumgart. Featuring session musician Dan Huff of White Heart fame on guitar.
I seem to remember there being more than two of them on their previous album but now its official, Age Of Faith consists of Jimi Ray and Rick Harwell with producer Bill Baumgart bringing in a bevy of CCM sessioners (Dann and Dave Huff, Bob Carlisle, Rick Elias etc) to fill in the gaps. The result is an album full of crunching power chords on the uptempo stuff and tasteful keyboards on the ballads but despite all the musical competence cannot hide its relative anonymity. Maybe there’s a classic song waiting to be discovered somewhere in this album but with such a formulaic sound it will take a braver reviewer than I to find it.
