Description

I Can’t Get Over It is a digital-only single by the American singers/songwriters Michael Roe and Michael Pritzl of The 77s and The Violet Burning fame respectively, independently released in December 2021. Featuring vocals and guitars by Michael Roe and Michael Pritzl. Mixed and mastered by Ralph Stover.

The originally rock version of “I Can’t Get Over It” was featured on the self-titled, third album by The 77’s, released on Island/Exit in 1987, and as well released as a 12-inch vinyl single the same year. Co-written by David Leonhardt and Mike Roe.

Following three wildly successful coast to coast tours with sold out crowds and fans clamoring for more, the popular folk duo Roe vs. Pritzl entered Derri Daugherty’s Neverland Studios in Nashville, January 2007 with the intent of committing their entire live set to tape for posterity before calling it quits for good. Unfortunately, at some point during the sessions, Michael Pritzl came down with a cold. So, 18 months later, the boys entered Michael’s home studio in southern California and re-recorded their vocals, which is where the story ends…

Fortunately, the original master tracks of the guys’ show-stopper «I Can’t Get Over It» survived from those initial sessions in Nashville and the vocal performances sound fantastic. Therefore, we are offering the recording here as a “Pay What You Will” Christmas gift to our heroes (and yourselves) for this holiday season!!
