Omnipop, sub-titled It’s Only a Flesh Wound Lambchop, is the fourth studio album by the American singer and songwriter Sam Phillips, released on Virgin Records in August 1996. The album was recorded and mixed by Pat McCarthy assisted by Mike Piersante at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California; with T-Bone Burnett producing. (Track 12 recorded by Toby Wright assisted by Tom Nellen. Track 2 mixed at Record One in Los Angeles.) Digital editing by Mike Piersante. Additional recording by David Glover. All songs written by Sam Phillips except track 12 co-written by R.E.M. (Peter Buck, Mike Mills, Bill Berry, and Michael Stipe) and Sam Phillips.
