Description
The self-titled, sole album by the American folk-rock combo The Children of Faith featuring singer/songwriter Terry Clark was self-released on COF Records in 1972. The album was recorded by Charles Ludwig, David Ludwig, and Glenn Adams at Ludwig Sound Recording Studio in Houston, Texas. (Produced by Ludwig Sound Recording Studio.)
The album features Terry Clark on acoustic and electric (Fender Rhodes) piano, Jana Menard on flute, Michael P. “Jai” Vasquez on electric guitar (Gibson Les Paul), Duane Clark on bass (and acoustic guitar), and Mike Gwin on percussion. Vocals provided by Terry Clark, Nancy Jo Kent, Jana Menard, and Duane Clark. Orchestra by Glenn Adams.
“Living Loving Eyes”, a non-album track, later was featured on the multi-artist compilation Hill Country Faith Festival 74 released in 1974.
Trivia: Children of Faith played in south/central Texas, and San Marcos, south of Austin, was a regular stop. That is where the Myrrh recording group Liberation Suite was from. After Children of Faith disbanded Terry Clark and his brother Duane were offered the opportunity to join Liberation Suite and thus they were based in London for almost a year. 1975 Liberation Suite was chosen to do the tour to introduce former Love Song member Chuck Girard as a solo artist to the UK and Europe. It was during the tour that Terry became good friends with Chuck, which resulted in his eventual signing with Good News Records as a solo artist. Chuck Girard produced Terry’s solo debut album, Welcome, released on Good News Records in 1978. (The album actually includes a re-recording of the Children of Faith album track “Merry Go Round” as well as “Living Loving Eyes”.) Terry also became a member of Chuck’s touring band.
