Face to Face

Description

Face to Face is an album by the American singer and songwriter Craig Williams, released on Destiny Records in October 1979. The album was produced and recorded by Evan Williams at Evan Williams’ Studio in Santa Ana, California. Future Daniel Amos keyboardist Rob Watson plays synthesizers on the album.

Good little-known soft-rock/folk-rock effort on the Destiny label, produced by Evan Williams of Harvest Flight. Craig sounds very similar to Evan, though they are in fact not related. «Miriam’s Song», «We Gather Together» and the title tune all have a light rustic air through use of such instruments as banjo, fiddle, mandolin and dulcimer. Others like «Kite Song», «Looking For Love» and «Jerusalem» are tactfully orchestrated with delicate strings and woodwinds. Rob Watson (Tamarack, Daniel Amos) contributes synthesizer to a few tracks, especially effective on «Scrooge». A couple compelling acoustic pieces in «If The End Were Told» and «Soul Gates», both with attractive use of flute. Craig was involved with the large folk group Icthus Team (who also have an album on Destiny) and Good Will Industry (who appear on Destiny’s Gospel Ship compilation).
