“Distance and Direction” – b/w “New Car” – is a two-sided 7-inch vinyl single by the American alternative rock band Daniel Amos, released on Alarma Records in 1984, distributed by The Benson Company (catalogue number ART 5524). Both tracks were taken from the band’s full-length album Doppelgänger released on Alarma Records the previous year, recorded and mixed by Thom Roy with Derri Daugherty (later of The Choir) at Whitefield Studios in Santa Ana, California; with band members Terry Taylor and Jerry Chamberlain producing for Rebel Base Productions. Both tracks written by band member Terry Taylor.
