Description
Violent Blue – b/w “Still Know Your Number By Heart” – is a two-sided 7-inch vinyl single by the American rock band Chagall Guevara, released in the UK on MCA Records in 1992 (catalogue number MCS 1619). (The title track was also released on CD in both Europe and the US.) The title track was taken from the band’s self-titled full-length album released on MCA in 1991, recorded by David Bryson at The Bennett House in Franklin, Tennessee; with Matt Wallace and the band co-producing. The B-side is a non-album track. Both tracks written by band members Lynn Arthur Nichols, Dave Perkins, and Steve Taylor.

Note: The single was also released in the UK as a CD single housed in a cardboard sleeve (catalogue number MCSTD 1619) featuring a third track, the album track “Murder In The Big House”. The title track was as well released in the US as a one-track CD promo single.
A full-page advertisement for Chagall Guevara’s debut album and their first single, “Violent Blue”, was featured in the January 28, 1991 issue of Hits Magazine.
