…Pulz: 15 Rock Alternatives is a multi-artist rock compilation released on ForeFront Records in 1997. It was the first of three Pulz samplers, the two others being Pulz 2: 17 More Rock Alternatives and Pulz 3: 18 More Rock Alternatives.

Gathering together some of their finest acts, EMI Music Group present one of those stonking compilations that will introduce you (or your friends, if you’re already in the know!) to a wealth of excellent Christian rock. From the obvious – Newsboys – «God Is Not A Secret»; DC Talk – «Jesus Freak»; Jars Of Clay – «Liquid» (all bone fide classics which no record collection should be without!) this compilation also gives you a taste for less well known but equally brilliant music from Considering Lily, Grammatrain (the excellent «Believe»), Audio Adrenaline and Third Day. You get the chance to get into the late great PFR as well as excellent newer bands like The Waiting, The Supertones (a bit like the old ska band The Specials!) MXPX, whose «Teenage Politics» has become a bit of an anthem in the USA (it’s actually punk but hey! These kids never knew the original thing!). For me the major discovery was Plankeye whose «BC» found itself on repeat play – must check out a full album!
