Description
Long Time Comin’ is the sophomore album by the American contemporary gospel/R&B quartet The Winans (brothers Marvin, Carvin, Ronald and Michael), released on Light Records in 1983. The album was recorded by Peter Haden at Paramount Recording Studios in Hollywood and Redwing Studios in Tarzana, California; with Bill Maxwell producing. Mixed by Haden and Maxwell at Paramount Recording Studios. Rhythm arrangements by Tom Keene (tracks A2, A3, A5, B1, B3, and B4) and Harlan Rogers (tracks A1, A4, B2, and B5). Horns arranged by Scott Smith.
The Winans is backed by a session band featuring Tom Keene, Michael Ruff, and Marvin Winans on keyboards, and David Winans II and David Mansfield on guitar, as well as the members of Koinonia: Harlan Rogers on keyboards, Hadley Hockensmith on guitar, Abraham Laboriel on bass, Bill Maxwell on drums, and Alex Acuña on percussion (with Abraham Laboriel Jr, Carvin Winans, and Maxwell). Also featuring Kim Hutchcraft (of Seawind fame) and Justo Almario (of Koinonia fame) on woodwinds, Charles Davis and Scott Smith on trumpet, and Andy Martin on trombone.
