Timeless: Hymns in Colour is a collaborative instrumental album by the American keyboardists/arrangers Smitty Price (a.k.a. George Smith Price) of One Truth fame and Harlan Rogers of Koinonia fame, released on Maranatha! Music in 1986, manufactured and distributed by Word. Released as a part of Maranatha’s Colours Instrumental Series. The album was recorded and mixed between February 26 and March 5, 1986 by Bill Cobb at West Oak Recorders in Westlake Village, California; with Smitty Price and Harlan Rogers producing. Performed by Smitty Price and Harlan Rogers with guest performance by percussionist Alex Acuna of Koinonia fame.

From the producers:

This album is meant to usher the listener into a place of spiritual communion with our God. An invitation to worship is extended followed by a declaration of who we worship and His personal relationship and involvement with is Further exhortation to extal and honor Him and the resultant sense of well-being concludes side one.

Side two begins with a joyful acknowledgment of His mighty power. The listeners are encouraged to look within themselves for the awareness of faith towards our loving Lord. An expression of His loving grace and forgiveness is followed by praise and the declaration that indeed Jesus is the fulfillment of all of man’s longing.

Throughout the process of this recording great care was given to both use the marvelous technology available to us and to creatively express this music in a way that preserves the integrity and sanctity of these traditional hymns.

We hope that this album will be an uplifting spiritual experience for you, that you will consider the timeless message expressed by the various composers throughout history and above all, that you will “dwell in the house of the Lord” forever.

About the artists:
Harlan Rogers is a member of the Christian musical group Koinonia. He has recorded, composed, produced and arranged Christian music since 1971, collaborating with such groups and musicians as The Winans, Keith Green, Andrae Crouch, Kelly Willard, Morris Chapman and Danniebelle Hall.

Smitty Price has been creating Christian music for nearly 15 years as a recording artist, arranger and producer. Among the many Christian artists he has worked with are Phil Keaggy, Dallas Holm, Twila Paris, Bob Bennett, Phil Johnson and Kelly Willard.
