Description
This is the World is the sophomore and final album by the British pop/rock band River City People, released on EMI Records in 1991. The album was recorded by David Nicholas at Real World Studios in Wiltshire, England (except tracks 5, 10, and 11 recorded at both Real World and Amadeus in Liverpool; and track 8 recorded at Wessex Sound Studios in London); with Nicholas and the band producing (except track 6 produced by Marius De Vries and Steve Sidelnyk, and track 8 produced by Steve Ferrera).
The band disbanded soon after the release of the album and lead vocalist Siobhan Maher then teamed with ex-Bangle Debbi Peterson in the duo Kindred Spirit, releasing a self-titled LP on Capitol Records in 1995.
