Classical Hymns Volume Two is an instrumental album by the American singer, songwriter, and trumpeter Phil Driscoll featuring The London National Philharmonic Orchestra, released on Mighty Horn/Word Records in 1991. The album was produced by Phil Driscoll and Lari Goss.
With sequels overtaking the movie box offices these days, it is no wonder Phil Driscoll has released such a sequel in ‘Classical Hymns II’. ‘Classical II’ was recorded at the same time as ‘Classical I‘ and continues in the vein of melodic, instrumental treatments of «Great is Thy Faithfulness», «It is Well», «To God be the Glory» and others that have become standards in many church hymnals today. Driscoll’s trumpet is the instrument of choice here, not his distinctive voice, which results in a very relaxed classical recording that is both soothing and uplifting.
