Mercy Thoughts, sub-titled Unreleased Demo/Live Recordings from Mike Stand and the Altar Boys, is a 20-track compilation album by the American alternative rock band Altar Boys and their lead singer Mike Stand, released on Millenium Eight Records ‎in 2000 (though originally independently released on cassette only in 1990 with basically the same cover image and sub-title, but featuring 12 tracks only). Featuring liner notes by lead singer/guitarist Mike Stand.

Note: This album was originally released in 1990 on cassette only with the same subtitle, “Unreleased Demo/Live Recordings from Mike Stand and the Altar Boys”, but whereas the cassette had 12 songs, M8 Records’ CD edition is expanded to 20 tracks (the cover unfolds to three pages of notes about the
songs by Mike Stand). There was a related VHS tape called “Mercy is What We Cry For” which has video footage and videos of seven songs. The box was white with a black and white concert picture on the front, and a sticker listing the songs on the back.
