Description
Out Of Many – One Voice is a full-length album by the British gospel choir London Community Gospel Choir, released in the UK on Alliance Music in 1998.
To use an expression that has cropped up in one form or other in Cross Rhythms before, the LCGC’s newest offering is a landmark in the history of British gospel music. For a start, it’s the debut release from the newly launched FAR (Future Arts Recordings) record label, who promise some pleasant surprises in the near future. Then there’s the album itself. Bazil Meade and Co have made records before, but have never really sounded their true selves on them. Not this time. Right from the moment the drummer counts the band in on «Happy Are The People» you know you’re in for something special – and it just gets better with each new song. They’ve gone for an organic, live feel in the making of the album, and the result is a record truly worthy of the “100% pure soul” tag. [George Luke, Cross Rhythms, August 1998]
