Ultimate Collection is a compilation album by the British singer and songwriter Graham Kendrick, released on Integrity Music in June 2015.
This compilation is being promoted as “a comprehensive guide to one of our most gifted writers” and is a 15-track selection largely drawn from 2013’s ‘Worship Duets‘ and 2010’s ‘The Very Best Of Graham Kendrick‘ CDs. Both of these comprise new recordings, so we’re not dealing here with repackaged old ’80s recordings, as nostalgic as that might be for some people. The majority of the songs hark back to the “glorious” ’80s and ’90s; songs such as «Amazing Love» and «Meekness And Majesty» are still as powerful when sung today as they were back when they were first written and recorded. Graham’s coupling of profound lyrics with catchy melodies in these songs has helped inspire many a church congregation to pour out their hearts in praise and worship through the years. Alongside these classics we also have a few more recent numbers such as «He Is Risen», a joyful Easter duet with Paul Baloche, and the reflective re-imagining of the traditional «Praise, My Soul, The King Of Heaven» with Martin Smith. However, I must point out that if you are looking for a compilation of Graham Kendrick’s songs, ‘The Very Best Of Graham Kendrick’ is far better value for money with 28 songs for the same price as the 15 here!
