Description
Worship Duets is an album by the British singer and songwriter Graham Kendrick, released on Kingsway Music in May 2013. On the Duets project, Kendrick did collaborate with significant songwriters and worship leaders to write and record new songs for the Church.
Britain’s modern worship veteran here works with numerous younger worship talents with some new songs and some fresh reworkings of old classics. The result is entirely invigorating. «Praise My Soul The King Of Heaven» (with Martin Smith) and «The Servant King» (with The Rend Collective Experiment) are arguably the best tracks though his duets with Matt Redman, Paul Baloche (two of them), Darlene Zschech, Reuben Morgan and Michael W Smith all work surprisingly well. Different ages and styles are united throughout this fantastic recording and this is best summed up in the album’s opening track «Hymn Of The Ages». Recorded with Matt Redman, this track’s lyrics demonstrate that generations may come and go, people and approaches to worship will change with time, but God remains the same. The “hymn of the ages” remains unchanging. [James Yelland, Cross Rhythms, July 2013]
