Description
Instrumental Journey is the solo debut album by the German songwriter, keyboardist, arranger and producer Dieter Falk, released on the German gospel label Pila Music in 1985. (Also released as On Time by Pila Music the same year, featuring different cover artwork.) Re-issued in the UK by Myrrh Records in 1987, a division of Word. The album was recorded by Michael Obst assisted by Andreas Claus at Studio Leonberg in Stuttgart, Germany; with Dieter Falk producing and arranging. (Basic tracks recorded by Constantin “Conny” Ende at his Metra-Sounds Studios in Cologne, Germany.) Horns recorded by John Guess at Rhema Studios in Los Angeles, California, USA. The album was mixed by Guess at Rhema Studios.
All music written by Dieter Falk except tracks A1, A4, and B1 written by Johann Crüger, track A5 written by Johann Georg Ebeling, track B3 written by Hans Sachs, and track B4 written by Amy Grant and Gary Chapman, as well track B2; a trad. tune.
Featuring Dieter Falk on keyboards, Werner Hucks on acoustic guitar, Lothar Kosse on electric guitar, Helmut Jost on bass, Martin Stoeck on drums and Simmons drums, and Thomas Adam on percussion (as well as synthesizer programming). Also featuring Arnd Schuler on flute, Chuck Findley on trumpet and Flugelhorn, and Jerry Hey on trumpet, Flugelhorn, and Piccolo Trumpet.
