The Wedgwood – Revival

Description

Revival is the fourth album by the American folk group The Wedgwood, released on Creative Sound in 1969. The album was recorded at Whitney Recording Studio in Glendale, California. All arrangements by The Wedgwood Trio.

Featuring Don Vollmer on guitar and vocals; Bob Summerour on guitar, banjo, and vocals; and Jerry Hoyle on bass, harmonica, and vocals. Keyboards provided by John Waller.

They used to happen every summer. Some of them were held in small, one-room churches. But the really big ones came to town like a circus, with large crews of men unloading big tents from horse-drawn wagons, painting huge signs that warned “Repent!”

Everybody came. It was the time of year to get your sins forgiven and to pray for backsliders.

Bute the once-a-year revival wasn’t enough. Too often it became just another part of the community’s round of life.

Now we wonder if revival can be a part of our lives at all. If it can, we must realize that revival is a way of life not tied to yearly tent meetings, a renewing process which can lead us to a fuller understanding of our God and our fellow men. [A note printed on the inside of the gatefold sleeve]
