Description
A Portrait of Us All is the sophomore album by the American pop duo Farrell & Farrell (husband and wife Bob and Jayne Farrell), released on NewPax Records in January 1980, distributed by Word. The album was recorded at Gold Mine Studio in Brentwood and at Sound Stage Studios in Nashville, Tennessee; with Brown Bannister producing for Chris Christian Productions. Featuring a cover of “Boundless Love”, a song written by Dennis Loewen and originally featured on his 1979 album, Profile.
NewPax artists Farrell & Farrell are experiencing secular airplay with the single «All You Need» from their “A Portrait Of Us All” LP. As a result the New Benson Company will release the single to a thousand A/C and top 40 stations. [A note featured in the Gospel section of the October 25, 1980 issue of Record World]
The Brown Barmister-produced follow-up A Portrait Of Us All ups the mellowness factor, though it does have another noteworthy slide guitar rocker in «Can’t Ask Anything More». For fans of Amy Grant, Chris Christian, etc. – you know who you are. The twosome forged on into the ‘80s where they absorbed some techno-pop influences. [Ken Scott, The Archivist, 4th Edition]
