“Choose for yourself this day whom you will serve…” comes the call of God to those who are IN TWO MINDS and trying to serve two masters. For in a world bankrupt of spiritual and moral values He seeks those who are prepared to swim AGAINST THE TIDE and be single-minded in their commitment to Him; a commitment where, in God’s eyes, obedience to Him is BETTER THAN SACRIFICE and where vows to each other remain sacred when society makes PROMISES so easily yet values them so cheaply. Here is the place of faithfulness to God where, in the confusion of a changing and restless world, He sees SOMEBODY STANDING firmly for what is right. So if there is a desire to serve God wholeheartedly and work at BULDING A KINGDOM rather than our own “empires”, we must first look at the world through His eyes and from INSIDE HIS HEART and then see the urgency of being true servants of God – that there is NO TIME TO LOSE. Above all, we must know that it is only through the power of His Spirit that we can stand at all and so pray that He will KEEP US THERE faithful, loyal and strong, in the place of an UNDIVIDED HEART.
