Harry Thomas – Something to Quiet the Lion

Description

Something to Quiet the Lion is an album by the American singer and songwriter Harry Thomas with Phoenix Sonshine, released on Destiny Records in 1976. The album was produced and engineered by Evan Williams of Harvest Flight fame at United Audio Studios in Santa Ana, California. Featuring Phoenix Sonshine as backing band, along with David Diggs, Al Perkins and Evan Williams. All songs written by Harry Thomas.

Harry has the look of a Nashville gospel kind of guy. While his custom album is often smooth-voiced orchestrated MOR or easy steel-guitar country, he can occasionally be capable of more interesting things. «Quiet The Lion», for example, is a fine growling rocker in the tradition of Barry McGuire, as is «Noah» with its funk-edged groove. Musical backing is provided by the group Phoenix Sonshine, along with David Diggs, Al Perkins and Evan Williams. Features ten of Harry’s songs. Also listed in Harry’s credentials are Baptist pastor, disc-jockey and founder of Come Alive Ministries, Inc. in New Jersey. [Ken Scott, The Archivist, 4th Edition]
