Dennis the Christian

Description

Dennis the Christian is the third album by the American singer and songwriter Dennis Agajanian, independently released in 1979.

Poised on the cover with acoustic guitar, big belt buckle and towering cowboy hat, Dennis stands ready to deliver more satisfying rural sounds. Brother Danny returns on mandolin and banjo, while others furnish steel guitar, bass, piano, fiddle and drums. Skips from country rock to acoustic ballads to pure country moods. «To Be Like John», «The Greatest Miracle», «Gospel Prison Band», «Luke» (a song about his son) and «Wally’s Song» are the titles Dennis wrote. If it’s fast-pickin’ instrumentals that you like, you’ve got three solid entries here: «William Tell Overture», «The Hallelujah Chorus» and his apparent favorite «Malaguena» (the closing selection on all three of these albums). Also covers of Kentucky Faith («Open Your Eyes») and Gerry Limpic («Come To The River»). He went on to do some albums in the ‘80s, including Rebel To The Wrong on the Light label.
