Description
Søker svar is the debut album by the Norwegian pop/rock band Presens, released on Power Music in 1981. The album was produced by Rune Bratfoss of Soli Deo fame. (Trivia: Presens was the first pop band in Norway to produce an album in its entirety as a music video.)
Presens features Sven Jøran Michelsen on keyboards and lead vocals (Michelsen was keyboardist in TVERS during the 1970s), Per Kristian Ottersen on lead guitar, Tom Jørgensen on bass and lead vocals, and Anders Viken on drums.
Søker svar was voted Album of the Year in the Readers’ Awards of the Norwegian gospel magazine Treff (while Bob Dylan’s Saved was voted International Album of the Year, with Larry Norman’s Something New Under the Son right behind). The album track “Du kan ikke ta det med deg” was later included on the multi-artist sampler Lukk opp kirkens dører: A selection of Norwegian Christian Jazz, Psych, Funk and Folk 1970-1980 released in Norway on Plastic Strip in April 2011.

Note: Simultaneously released on cassette and 12-inch vinyl LP by Power Music. As the very first Norwegian pop band, the band also produced a commercially available video of the whole album. (The long form video was recorded February 20-22, 1981 at Club Consult Videostudio in Norway. Equipment: Two JVC Ky 2000 cameras and Berkey Colortran Light. Recorded and edited on a JVC CR 8200 U-Matic. The sound was recorded at Arne Bendiksen Lydstudio.)
