Description
Vi er søsken is the sophomore album by the Norwegian folk-rock quartet Kari Hansa & Gregers Hes, released on the Norwegian gospel label Lu-Mi in 1978. The album was recorded during January and February 1978 by Alf Emil Eik and Christian Willie at Scanax Studio in Oslo, Norway; with Per Tveit producing. Featuring instrumental backing by several members of the Norwegian progessive rock band Popol Ace. The album sold in 10,000 copies.
Kari Hansa & Gregers Hes features Kari Saastad on vocals, Hans Olav Mørk (a.k.a. Hansa) on guitar, harmonica, and vocals, Gregers Lundh on guitar and vocals, and Hans Erik Schei (a.k.a. Hes) on flute and vocals. Hans Erik Schei left the group in 1978 and was replaced by multi-instrumentalist Alf Emil Eik (who actually co-engineered Vi er søsken). When Hans Olav Mørk left the group in 1981, the remaining members continued as the trio Kari, Alf & Gregers, which released a sole album in 1982, entitled Duell.
The album track “Misforståelse” was later included on the multi-artist sampler Lukk opp kirkens dører: A selection of Norwegian Christian Jazz, Psych, Funk and Folk 1970-1980 released on the Norwegian indie label Plastic Strip in April 2011.
