Mountaintop is the sophomore album by the American singer and songwriter Michael Gonzales, released on MRC Records (Ministry Resource Center) in 1983, a sub-label of Maranatha! Music. The album was recorded by Christopher Banninger at Can-Am Recorders in Tarzana, California; with David Diggs and Michael Gonzales producing. Mixed by Dan Willard at Whitefield Studios in Santa Ana, California. Arranged by Diggs. All songs written by Michael Gonzales except track A1 written by Bill Champlin, track A2 co-written by Keith Thomas and Howard McCrary, track A4 co-written by Jody Arreguin and Margaurite Ingram, track B2 co-written by Charles Williams and Michael Gonzales, and track B3 co-written by Keith Thomas and Gary Chapman.

The title track was featured on the multi-artist compilation Back to the Rock #2 released on the Maranatha! Music imprint A&S Records (Asaph & Sons) in October 1983. (The liner note of the sampler album says: “A screenwriter, and producer of various musical projects, Michael currently heads the studio operations of a film and television department for a Southern California university. He also is active as a worship leader for Calvary Chapel of West Covina, California.”)
