Have You Seen Jesus My Lord, sub-titled Eleven Songs for Christian Life and Worship, is the sophomore album by the American singer and songwriter John Fischer, released on F.E.L. Records in 1970. The album was recorded at RCA Studios in Hollywood, California; with James E. Schaefer producing. Arranged by Clark Gassman. Featuring some of Hollywood’s finest studio musicians as well as the backing of The Danniebelles – well-known gospel singers from the San Francisco area.

Took me forever to find this one but once in my hands I immediately fell in love with it. Superb follow-up to The Cold Cathedral with a similar yet more mature sound ranging from simple acoustic James Taylor styled folk («Jesus Is My Song», «Sons Of Cain») to dynamic tracks that feature the gospelly background vocals of The Danniebelles («Jesus My Lord», «Way Of All Flesh»). Some of John’s most moving song-writing «The Word» and «Light» in particular touch me in a powerful way, as well as the delicate piano ballad «Love». Country influences show up again on a few songs, including a twangy pedal steel version of «Trust And Obey». «Jesus In Me» gets a bit of a rock/organ groove going, while the closing «Death Is Swallowed Up» borrows its melody from classical composer Saint-Saens’ Organ Symphony.
