The Now Faith – The Now Faith Singers – M…

Bourne Music is trying out … of the gospel-rock … the jazzing up of the … might with these perky … songs written and produced by E. Werle. They are suns.. iest of choruses. [Record World, December 19, 1970, Vol. 25, No. 1228 (Record World Album Product)]

Intriguing Methodist brassy choral work that tosses in creative rock elements, along with sassy glimmers of lounge-pop hipsters like Enoch Light and The Bob Crewe Generation. Some cool electric guitar solos cropping up here and there, coupled with periodic mod organ moves, rocking rhythm section, and groovy pumped-up horn action. The playful «Immortal, Invisible» sounds like it could almost be a distant relative to the «I Dream Of Jeanie» TV theme song. Other sample titles include «Love Is Everything», «What Ever Happened To What’s His Name», «He Is Coming On», «And Yet Another Congregation», «Turn Us On» and «The Reverse Pater Noster». Doesn’t pose a threat to the Barbarella soundtrack, but certainly tons more interesting than your standard Christian choral excitement. Lyrics, music and production by Floyd E. Werle. [Ken Scott, The Archivist, 4th edition]
