Description
Urgency of Now is a cassette-only EP by the American synth-pop band Love Assembly, self-released in 1992. The album was produced and engineered by band member Barry Blazs.
Love Assembly is Collin Rowland and Sven Menninger.
This is the only full-length release by the band that appeared on the SLAVA: Voice of the People compilation and apparently signed with Blonde Vinyl. They had previously released All the Pain and You as a single the year before this release. The sound here is still their own spin on the synth-pop / club / techno style that was popular at the time. «Onward» is their cover of «Onward Christian Soldiers». Thirty years after the release of this tape, the band released an anniversary edition that four bonus tracks and separated the into to «Learn to Feel» into its own track called «State of the Nation». A great album that was thankfully resurrected by the former band members. [Christian Tape Underground, September 6, 2026]
