Pelle Karlsson – Han ar min sang och min gladje

Description

Han är min sång och min glädje is an album by the Swedish singer and songwriter Pelle Karlsson of New Creation fame, released on the Swedish gospel label Signatur in 1973. The album was recorded by Björn Almstedt at Europa Film in Stockholm, Sweden; with Lennart Sjöholm of New Creation fame producing and arranging.

The album includes both original songs written by Pelle Karlsson as well as covers of well known songs from the American Jesus Movement, like the Love Song classic “Little Country Church” (translated into “En ny tid är här”); the Andraé Crouch classic “I Don’t Know Why Jesus Loved Me” (translated into “Så stor är Jesu kärlek”); the Larry Norman classic “I Wished We’d All Been Ready” (translated into “Vi ville vara redo”); “He Is My Everything” written by Dallas Frazier (translated into “Han är min sång och min glädje”); and “His Hand” co-written by Francois, Thibaut, and Revaux (translated into “Jag håller hans hand”); as well as the trad. tune “This Little Light Of Mine” (translated into “Det lilla ljus”).

Trivia: The album have during the years sold half a million copies in Sweden (in a country with only 8 million inhabitants back in the day of the album release).
