Growing is an album by the American rock band Fresh Start (fronted by Paul and Andrea Newbauer), independently released on Fresh Start Music in 1984. The album was recorded by Brian Stritenberger at Makin’ Tracks Recording Services in Frankfort, Ohio; with band member Paul Newbauer producing. Mixed by Stritenberger and Fresh Start at Makin’ Tracks. All songs written by Paul and Andrea Newbauer except track B1 written by Paul Newbauer and Dave Decker.
Followers of early ‘80s melodic hard rock with female vocals like The Last Adam, Living Sacrifice Band or Servant should lend an ear to this sharp Ohio custom record. Fresh Start is essentially Paul and Andrea Newbauer, together with four supporting musicians. Paul produced the recording and contributes drums, percussion and acoustic guitar, while Andrea supplies lead vocals and keyboards. They also wrote all the songs. Patmos guitarist Larry Cook gets some loud rocking opportunities on titles like «Could This Be The Day», «Trial By Fire» and «The Riddle». Several nice middle-ground tracks and ballads as well.
