Description

Power Music, sub-titled Rock Music with a New Dimension!, is a multi-artist compilation released on Myrrh Records in 1977, a division of Word.

According to an article entitled ‘$75,000 Gospel Gamble Success. 3-Month Myrrh Records Push Spurs Contemporary LPs‘, published in the April 2, 1977 issue of Billboard Magazine, “Great Great Joy‘ is aimed at the Christian music market and ‘Power Music’ is aimed at the secular markets. Both LPs are collections from Myrrh albums and the Myrrh Jubilation group albums..”

No non-LP tracks on this Myrrh compilation, but it has a colorful attractive tabletop jukebox cover painting, plus photos and insightful biographies of the featured artists on the inner sleeve. Selections by Randy Stonehill, Larry Norman, Phil Keaggy, Michael Omartian, Chuck Girard, Tom Howard, Sonlight Orchestra, B J Thomas, Pat Terry Group and Chris Christian.
